Zimbabwe insurance companies – Exposing funeral assurance policies in Zimbabwe

by | Sep 2, 2014 | sme investment opportunities | 5 comments

Zimbabwe insurance companies have technically two main options when it comes to making advance preparations for funeral expenses. However, one has an option of self-insurance. An individual will simply be setting aside an amount of money for emergencies or face them as they come with resources available that time. The second and third is what is provided by the Zimbabwe insurance industry. You can pay for your funeral policies which give you a service or you can get funeral policy insurance which pays cash, period. Yes! Receive cash.

Funeral policy insurance in Zimbabwe is a type of life insurance which is as old as the hills. It is unique in that it is paid out upon death of the live assured to cover final expenses, such as the cost of a funeral. Outside Zimbabwe, you may find out that Funeral Insurance can also be termed Burial Insurance. This type of assurance is a pre-planned cover to deal with funeral and burial related activities.

Regardless of your age or health, in Zimbabwe you can get funeral Insurance plans that can be paid in a single payment or spread over a period of ten to twenty years. When the time comes to make your claim, your funds will be available quickly. Most claims are paid within 24 hours after the necessary documentation is received. If you are interested, email me and I will advise. For generations, we have carried on a tradition of providing families with peace of mind. Of late, many Zimbabweans have tended to favor funeral cash plans over the traditional funeral policies and I have thought of doing an x-ray of a typical cash plan and its benefits.

The full costs associated with a funeral are usually unknown until 5 or so days after the funeral. Some of the costs are usually unexpected both in amount and in nature. These costs may include but not limited to the following.

         Costs of funeral plots or graves

         Costs of burial

         Funeral home costs that may increase in time.

         Funeral service

         Obituaries and advertising in newspapers.

         Hospital bills

         Next month rentals in case of a bread winner dying

     Next term fees especially when deceased dies a few days before schools open

       Costs of bringing other relatives to and from the funeral

         Balance in bride price

         Kuripa mhosva

         Reliving Your Loved Ones of Difficult Decisions

         Reducing The Costs of Your Funeral Service

         Removing The Financial Burden of Funeral Costs

Looking at the above list, you can agree with me that the best way to prepare for funeral expenses is to get a cash plan. Whatever you may need done at a funeral will usually have a cash requirement. Thus if one is to get a funeral cash plan in Zimbabwe the better.

Zimbabweans in the Diaspora can also make use of this policy as cash cannot be bound by geography. Imagine if the life assured on your policy happens to die whilst visiting relatives in Capetown South Africa. It’s easier to send cash to relatives in South Africa so that they help repatriate the body. Zimbabweans in the diaspora can also take the same policy for relatives in Zimbabwe so that in the event of a death home, they may use part of the money to fly to attend the funeral and fly back to their diaspora residence whilst enough money remains to cater for the funeral.

I intend these articles to provoke thought and not to be the basis of decision making. For more information on funeral policy insurance contact me and I will advise according to the services of all the Zimbabwe insurance companies. This Insurance week, make sure you benefit something as I try to expose Insurance facts you may not be aware of.

This really makes sense and at the same time i wanna agree with you that traditional funeral policies are of less relevance compared to the cash plans. This is necessitated by the fact that we have lots of costs that that surface upon bereavement of our beloved ones. In addition, the cash plan offers you a better option to insure lives for as much as you can afford, even $75000 and this is quite a fortune which can be translated into some much more meaningful investment/annuity that will accrue in respect of the beneficiaries/dependants of the Life Assured.
